My sister has a cable internet ISP. I am going to run a wireless router (Lynksys). What will I need to grab the signal from my computer? just a regular wireless card?

yeah just a wireless card as long as they use the same band, like G, B or Pre-N

you will need a piece of chewing gum, a paper clip, rubber band..a book of matches and a nice cold Shiner Bock thrown in for good measure.....after your done setting up the wirless router....drink beer to toast yourself on a job well done!!!

So how did it go Jorm?

My other suggestion is to keep the brands identical between the transmitter and the PC card. While not required, it tends to improve reliability and many manuf. have special 'burst modes' that only work if both card & base are equipped with it.

BTW, I've had the best luck with Linksys so far..

I got it working, ran an usb plug in modem and picked up on wifi. 54mb connection my transfer rate is from 480-540 KB per sec so it isnt that bad.
