We (cedax and I) have destruction on Averheim or something like that, and Order on Azazel in the guild Internal Revenue Service which is the midgard Dogs of War alliance.
Looked at the server yall rolled on and it looks like a morded type server or a wow pvp where u can get attacked anywhere /shudder.

That order server I said is where we will be playing there, just ask someone in Internal Revenue Service to invite u.
We tried that chaos server i mentioned but it is so full we lag too hard and get kicked too often making it not so fun, so we have decided to make Chaos on Gorefang. It is Medium/Medium server. So hopefully won't be so laggy.

Hey folks..
I now have a shammy on Gorefang, an archmage somewhere else and a squig on the other server... I have no idea where I will end up playing or if I will ultimately bother...
The game is interesting, the graphics are a little too cartoonish and silly in some areas.. Very large world though, and I like the ability to switch areas..
See ya soon

The only problem with Gorfang so far is that the scenario queues are a little bit long and all the rvr at the moment is focused in EvC because the population is a little lower than on some servers, and order is of course slightly lower pop than destruction like it is on every server.
Otherwise being able to actually play whenever I want is nice.
My zealot, Rhylith, is rank 12 RR 11 now. My rl friends and I have started up an extension of our wow guild Perpetual Onslaught here, buuuuut there's an alliance system like DAOC! So yeah let the keep siege begin!
The guild leveling system is super awesome.

Aye
*sigh* This happened when WoW came out. We had everyone spread out all over the place. I was hoping we could avoid the same thing happening with WAR, but I guess I was being a bit naive.
So, before I get started where are we making characters? I don't want 10 different characters on 10 different servers like in WoW.
Like Lilae I most likely won't be able to play until near the end of the month, however my RL friend's names are Ozlynn and Bored, and they're on Bechafen.

Destruction Server...
Well, I have been disappointed that we still seem to be on different servers... On the good side of things, at least we are down to just 2 servers: Bechafen vs. Gorfang.
So, I had created my Greenskin Shaman on both those servers, and they are both level 2 now. yeah. (both are named "Fugnut")
As near as I can tell, with folks having RL friends playing on each of those servers, I expect it will just keep us spread upon the 2 servers. I completely understand the desire to play there. When I used to play EQ with RL friends, it was great fun.
As for the rest of us, I don't have any idea on a way to approach this... other than to say, everyone play on the server they like. Open RvR on Bechafen, or regular server on Gorfang.
I'm okay with either, but would typically play on a non RvR server. Back in my days on Ultima Online, where it is was Open RvR... it can be a LOT of fun. So, I am tempted to put something on Bechafen, and try it out.
In addition, at Level 2, it is really hard to get an idea of where this game will be going. So far, its very true-to-genre. I've fought low-level baddies, while collecting teeth, ichor & axes. I've yet to see any skill progression, trade-skills, spell progression, or anything. Yeah, I know ... I"m level 2.
So, look for Fugnut on either server, and throw him a buckskin or whatever I may need to hide my greenskin ass. I'm nekid and need some stuff!

Open RvR is horrible. Core servers have more than enough pvp on demand. Why add in the possibility of getting continuously ganked by people 10+ levels higher than you when you can go pvp against people actually within your level range at any time either in the open field or scenarios, or just flag yourself and run into enemy territory?
UO was different with its skill based leveling system and methods of escape. Those options don't exist in this game. The death penalty may be very minor, but the immense frustration of getting ganked over and over while questing will still be just the same as it was in WoW.
Trade skills trainers come up in the chapter 2 town. There's only 4 gathering and 2 crafting skills and they aren't meant to have the same emphasis as in previous games, but the trades that are there are really cool. I'm doing talisman and salvaging on my main, which is a little more expensive now but probably has the most potential to profit at 40.
Skills and spells level up as you level to an extent. After level 11, the natural leveling slows down and you'll start earning mastery points which will continue to the level of the skills you want to specialize in and give access to new skills. You'll also start earning morale abilities at lv 8, which charge up as you fight and are highly effective nukes or heals, and tactics at lv 10, which are passive effects that you equip into tactics slots. You can switch between these slots based on the situation as long as you are out of combat.
