Mythic Entertainment Lets Loose the Armies of WAR as the "Day of Reckoning" Approaches

FAIRFAX, Va. - September 15, 2008 - Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) studio, today announced that the highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR), will ship tomorrow to retail stores across North America, Europe, and Oceania in preparation for launch on September 18th. WAR set a company record for the most retail pre-orders placed by consumers for a PC title in EA's 26 year history. Overall, the company has sold 1.5 million units of WAR to retailers.

Based on the popular tabletop game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is an epic fantasy MMORPG featuring innovative Realm vs. Realm™ game play that pits the armies of Order and Destruction against one another on the battlefield to determine the fate of nations. Hundreds of thousands of players have already joined the battle in the open beta, and soon the time will be at hand for players the world over to pledge their allegiance to the armies of WAR.

I just bought my copy of WAR, and it taunts me from within the little plastic bag as we speak. It cajoles me for not having the gutz to call in sick and install it this very morning.

Whomever gets installed and logged in first, PLEASE choose a server, exit and post it here!

And before creating your first character, please check these boards for an update (above) on the server.

As for affiliation, it looks like we will have a lot more people playing DESTRUCTION, so let's all give that a go.... time to flex your evil grins!

I have chosen the server Bechafen/Destruction and Hochland/Order....I do not have a character name yet because I haven't decided on what class to play, but I will post a reply when I have one created.

We have identified an issue with the Warhammer Online Standard Editions in AU and NZ. Some of you have mentioned that after installing the game, there is no icon on your desktop (the shortcut would look like a small black window).
Please be aware that we are aware of the problem and have investigated the cause of it. There was a CD duplication error and as a result, the exe file is corrupted. This issue only affects Warhammer Standard Editions in AU and NZ. Collector Editions are not affected. Read on for instructions on how to resolve this issue.
