Anyone interested in the Turbine developed D&D Online? I've been looking at it and it seems kinda interesting.

I played the open beta a bit. It's terrible. Graphics are bland, interface is awful, and overall it's just boring.

Ok, I'll remove it from my interested list. :)

yeah... I played for a few hours, not as long as Turc did. He made several characters and tried them all out. He even got into a lengthy discussion with someone we're pretty sure is a developer.

The graphics are good, just not special enough. It's dark, kind of dreary, and the heads are all too big for the bodies. The interface is totally borked, going against all averages for mmorpgs so far. Vaguely reminds me of Lineage 2, but not as pretty.

Of course being D&D, grouping is required. This might be fine for those people who plan to go over as a group, but we all know there are times when you just want to grind by yourself. This is impossible from what I've seen in this game.

They have a good idea here, but it needs a LOT of work still.

I gotta go with Lil and Jeff on this one, The beta was pretty bland and in all honesty anyone who played DnD at all would be really dissapointed.

Anyone ever try Neverwinter Night's online group D&D campaign stuff? That sounded like the way to go if you like grouping with your buds for a little FRP session on the internet.... never tried it myself...

The thing is DDO has been in development for what? 6 years now? I can't imagine it is going to be comparable with DAoC, EQ2 and WoW.
