Late night ramblings

It's getting late...I almost chopped off my thumb with a giant ginsu knife and almost broke the garbage disposal with a turnip. True stories. All for this holiday potluck at work. I'm going to request to just buy a bucket of KFC next year instead of everyong having to make their own stuff. This is hazardous to my health.

But the real reason I wanted to post my late night ramblings is because I want to know if I'm weird if I feel my Willy move a bit every time I see any image, review, or even think about Final Fantasy IV being released for Game Boy Advance.

This is *the* game that forever cemented my brain into the realm of videogames. This is it. Am I weird that I named the characters ingame after my best friends IRL at the time, many years ago? Or that I had a crush on Rydia? Or that girls I chased IRL at the time had some striking resemblences to Rydia? Or that I can still hum about every song in the game after not playing it in a decade? Shouldn't people my age be talking about hot stocks to buy like the Satellite Radio one, instead of wanting to talk to peers about where the secret chasm is on the moon that you can walk across to get the best sword in FFIV?

If I had a few more mouths I swear I could do the sound effects of Meteo.

I don't think my coworkers spent the better part of a week during their summers as kids trying to turn back Palom and Porom from petrification.

Or that I named my successive lines of baseball bats after some of spell names in the game.

Or that every time I see a spoon or frying pan, I think of the days I spent talking to every NPC in the game at various stages of the game to find the exact person to talk to at the exact time in order to get a frying pan to hit a character in the head so I could get the Spoon item, which was a one-time use throwing item that did a ton of damage. Wow. Just wow.

Man, it's getting late. I think my biggest fantasy in life is to be a little pixel cartoon character and just go questing around with friends in videogames. I mean..actually BE the cartoon character. I want a damn suit of armor and I want to swing some heavy weaponry around at some ultimate evils to save the world/solar system/universe/whatever.

That's all friends. I just had to get it off my chest.

BTW, for me it was Ultima IV .. classic! And personally, I think most folks are only good for one game at that deep intensity level... I mean, as we get older..who wants to spend that kind of time on needle-in-a-haystack conversation tree parsing?.? Much more fun to go out an kills something that breathes.... (ahem.. via virtual world combat .. of course!)

I used to (still do sometimes) hear songs on the radio and make a video to them in my head of FF.
